This paper presents an approach to force linear genetic programming (GP) to evolve introns, i.e., non-effective instructions in programs. In this paper, a chromosome in linear GP encodes multiple solutions. In particular, the value stored in the nth register will be used as the output of the nth solution. Each solution in a chromosome will be evaluated and assigned a fitness value.
